I'm trying to blog more, and one of the blogs I read,
BooMama, shares her opinions on American Idol every week, and I thought it would be fun for me to do the same. Here we go...
Crystal Bowersox - She was awesome, as always. Love her. Have loved her from day one.
Andrew Garcia - I think he should have changed the song up a lot more, to the point where you couldn't even recognize the song except for the words. It was karaoke-ish (that's a hard word to spell, have you ever tried to spell "karaoke"?) for sure. He really made it hard for himself when he rocked it out with the Paula song.
Tim Urban - Well first of all, I love this song to begin with (Can't Help Falling in Love). And I really like Tim - he's cute and I like his hair. :) I could "hear" this song on the radio and he made it sound modern. Loved it. Love him.
Lee Dewyze - Ehh, it was okay. He's good, but I wasn't crazy about the performance. He probably won't be around too much longer.
Aaron Kelly - Another karaoke-ish performance. He sang it well but it was not a good song choice for him just because of the nature of the song. He would be my first pick to go home, if it was up to me.
Siobhan Magnus - Like the song and she can definitely sing. She's one of those that they say "could sing the phone book". It wasn't my favorite performance of hers, but not my least favorite either. Her clothes were better this week, but her hair was weird. I think no matter how well she sings, I just can't get over the weirdness.
Michael Lynche - It was good, but kind of boring. Needed to speed it up or do something a little more exciting with it. He has a very nice voice and was definitely worth saving.
Katie Stevens - Just need to throw it in there that I agree with Simon that she has a country sound to her voice and she would do well in that genre. She did a good job with the song, though I didn't love the song. She has definitely grown on me. I wasn't crazy about her at first, but I'm liking her now more than I used to.
Casey James - The song suited him well. I'm not familiar with the song, so not sure how much he changed up the arrangement, but it was a good arrangement for him. I think he is definitely marketable and could do well as a recording artist.
Remember, two people are going home!
Should go home: Aaron & Lee
Will go home: Aaron & Andrew
