Me Playing Along

What I was doing 10 years ago: 10 years ago I was 14 years old! It was 1998 so I was in 8th grade. The big fish in the middle school pond. :) Just doing the middle school thing, I guess that was still in my "rebellious" years, although I was pretty moderately "rebellious" compared to a lot of kids.

5 things on my To Do list today: 1 - start researching for my accounting ethics paper (I'm writing about Adelphia Communications). 2 - get stamps. 3 - pay bills. 4 - watch American Idol. 5 - spend time with my wonderful hubby! I have a pretty easy life, and I love it!

Snacks that I enjoy: it might take less time to list snacks I don't enjoy, haha. I like chips and any kind of dip, cheese, chex mix, cookies, pretty much anything

Things I would do if I were a billionaire: tithe to the church of course, pay off our house, pay off my mom's and house, pay off Anthony's school loans and my Jeep loan, go on an amzing vacation, buy Anthony a sweet truck, maybe pay off Vicky's and Matt's school loans so they all could have life a little easier, help both our families out any way they needed it... the possibilities are endless!

Trek Pictures

This is my Bible quiz team! Melanie, Miranda, Michaela, and Derrick. They were the only team to get ALL of the paddle quiz questions right. Actually there was one other team who had also gotten all of the questions right until this one question where every answer was guessed by at least one team. We were the only team holding up "B" so everyone is like, oh no.... And she says the answer and it is B! And then as soon as that question was done, she called time for that round! So that was amazing!

This is the games team with the final scoreboard. The green Tabernacle team had 86, so it was pretty close with that team, but we won!
















Miranda and Brittany holding the ribbon for breaking the record for the girls' balloon relay. Don't ask... only Awana people would understand. :) Brittany also beat the record for the girl's marathan race which is 7 laps. She was really nervous about it so I was so proud of her! I love these girls!

Trek

So we went to Danville with the Trek kids today for Awana Bible Quizzing and games. I'm not going to post everything now, because I'm exhausted after about 6 total hours on a bus with those kids today, but I just wanted to give a quick overview.

My kids got 3rd place in Bible Quzzing, and they were the only team to get all of the paddle quiz (multiple choice) questions correct! Two of the other teams (the ones that beat us) pretty much rocked it up on the speed (buzzer) questions. I am SO extremely proud of them. All 4 of them put 110% into their studying. I know that God will reward and bless them for their hardwork. Thanks Derek, Miranda, Melanie, and Michaela! You guys are the best. :)

Also, the games team won 1st place! Broken records and longest tug-of-war ever are a few things I will elaborate on when I do my real post, hopefully tomorrow.

Very fun, but long day. I am off to bed now. :)

Domesticated

Today was sooo beautiful! When I got home, I begged Anthony to go for a walk, but he wouldn't go. :( But I decided to get myself outside anyways, and I planted some (dying) daffodils that my friend Malisa from work gave me. So they won't be pretty this year, but once they are all the way dead I will trim them down and hopefully we'll have some pretty daffodils around our front porch next year!

I also made cube steak for the first time today. It was pretty yummy if I do say so myself. It was almost ruined when Anthony forgot to turn the crockpot on before he left! But luckily he was able to come home during his lunch and turn it on so everything turned out okay.

Of course I am glad tomorrow is Friday, but I am so bummed that we won't get to sleep in on Saturday! We are headed to Danville on the bus with the kids to go to the Awana Bible Quizzing and games. We have to be at the church at 7:30. Ugh. That means we have to get up even earlier than normal. Anthony tried to convince me into us driving to Danville ourselves. While I treasure my Saturday mornings sleeping in, it's not as much as I treasure the money it would cost us in gas to get to Danville!

Well, I am going to go settle down in front of the tv for Survivor and Lost! This is my favorite tv night for sure. There is nothing in the world like cuddling up with my hubby with a good cup of coffee and 2 of our favorite shows! :)

Saturday Night Fun

Well, we had the 7th and 8th graders from the youth group over to our house tonight. It was a lot of fun. We ate, played Apples to Apples and Anthony's "enhanced" Xbox, and watched some funny youtube clips. They are a fun group of kids for sure. Tomorrow we'll do church, lunch at Mom's, Bible quiz practice from 3 to 4, and then we're taking Ashley out for dinner for her birthday on Monday. But tonight we lose an hour of precious sleep. So I'm going to go move my clothes to the dryer and hit the sack in my wonderful, warm flannel sheets. :) Goodnight.

So I get home today and there is something in the mail from Liberty..... I was worried that it was going to be some random, off the wall bill (which I should not have) but it had a check look to it. So I'm thinking, maybe there is something I don't know about it and God is trying to massively bless my day with a big check.....

I open the envelope..... drum roll please.....

A whopping $3.25!!!!

This many quarters....

Apparently I had a credit on my account from 2 years ago. Number 1, it's about time they did that. Number 2, they could have just kept the money and considered it my contribution to Liberty. Oh well, it's better than nothing, right? And I guess technically, since my parents did pay for my education at Liberty, those 13 quarters should go to them. Mom, when we have a yardsale, you can take 13 quarters from my pile. :)

Hello....

Hi... so, no, I have not fallen off the face of the planet. I don't really know what my deal is and why I can't keep this thing updated at regular intervals. But since my husband is doing way more than his fair share of the workload at Waynesboro High School at this moment, I thought I would take a second to update. Not really much exciting has happened. The weekend before Valentine's Day we made a weekend trip to Lynchburg. On Saturday morning and afternoon we were at the Love 4 Life conference at Thomas Road. I won free tickets on Spirit FM and I think we both learned a few things and laughed really hard, so it was worth our time. Richie McDonald, the former lead singer from Lonestar was there, so let's see if I can be tech-saavy enough to sneak one of my videos in here....

After the conference was over we went to Matt & Amanda's. This was Anthony's first time seeing Lily, so that was fun. We had a great time with them as we always do. Vicky also was able to come over and hang out. We also went to the Nazarene Church on Sunday which is where we went while we were at Liberty. It was great to see Pastor Stephen. He was a youth pastor at the Nazarene church here in Waynesboro when I was in youth group, so I knew him before I ever went to Liberty. So it was kind of nice to have a familiar face when I was looking for a "home church" while in Lynchburg. Anyways, off subject...

Now, the last picture totally cracks me up. It was this little swaddle thing that makes them lay still while they are sleeping so they sleep better, and I had never seen one before and I thought it was just about the funniest thing ever. It's like a little baby straight jacket or something. She was just so cute all bundled up in it!!!

This past Saturday we went to Spotswood High School in Penn Laird (which is near Harrisonburg) to see Waynesboro and Lee play in a championship game. These two teams are probably the biggest rivals in the area, and Waynesboro won in OT! Yay! :) It was kind of interesting for me though, since I taught in Staunton last year but my loyalties are to Waynesboro now. I was pointing lots of people out to Anthony the whole game. I'm sure he just wanted to tell me to shutup and watch the game, but he's a nice husband and he just nodded and said yes. :) We kind of started at the very end of the seasoning following the Giants' basketball a little bit and now I wish we had gone to a lot more of the games, because they have been a lot of fun.

The next few weekends are going to be super busy for us. This coming weekend we are having the 7th and 8th graders from the youth group over to our house for a "house party" as they are calling it. We really enjoy this group of kids so it should be fun. The weekend after, we are headed to Danville on Saturday for Awana Bible quizzing and games with the same group of kids. I am "coaching" the Bible quiz team. If we win something, great, but I hope they just have a good time and enjoy the opportunity to do this. It should be a fun day. Then the weekend after that is Easter. We will be leaving on Friday after work and going to VA Beach to stay with Anthony's family. That Sunday we will go to Matt & Amanda's home church to see little Lily be dedicated. Then that afternoon we'll be going to Jon and Sam's for Kevin's birthday party... 5 years old he'll be... wow, hard to believe.

So that's about the latest in our lives. Maybe I'll take some inspiration from Amanda and try to update more.... but let's not count on it. :)
