We had a great weekend! On Friday evening we went to Holli & Josh's wedding. It was a wonderful wedding and an excellent reception. The food was great and it was lots of fun! They are a really cute couple and I am so happy for them!
Saturday we slept in a bit and we finally had our new living room furniture delivered! It took us forever to figure out how to situate the room but we finally got it figured out. I love the furniture and how we have it set up and I am so glad we bought it. I feel like it looks like a real living room now and not a college kid's room anymore. I will take a picture of it eventually, but I'm enjoying sitting on it right now too much to do that! Haha!
Then Saturday afternoon, Mom, Ashley, Kevin, and Zoe came over to see the furniture and then we went to Foster's Grille to eat dinner. It was great! After that Anthony and I did our normal grocery shopping and stopped for Sonic's 99 cent milkshakes before we headed home. :)
Sunday we did the normal church and Mom's house deal.
On to the pregnancy update. I am now 15 weeks and 1 day. It's hard to believe I am only 5 weeks away from being half way through the pregnancy! I still don't really have a belly yet, but I know it will be soon because I am having round ligament pains, so I know things are definitely getting bigger down there. I have my next appointment, next Thursday, July 10th. It's just a regular check-up, nothing too exciting, but I'm hoping maybe we'll get to hear the heartbeat again.
The good thing about this week is that we both have Friday off! We are planning on going to the Biggs' house for the regular 4th of July cookout. Then Saturday we are headed to Lynchburg for Amanda & Lee's wedding! Amanda and I have been friends since pre-school so I am so excited to be there with her on this day!

Weekend in VA Beach and a Surprise Blessing!
We had a great weekend in Va Beach. Saturday we were all over the place! We went to Chris & Laura's as soon as they got home from the hospital and saw their new house, and of course, baby Elena. She is definitely the smallest baby I have ever held. Her little head is the same size as the softball they use in church leagues. Laura measured her head and it was 12 inches around! She is absolutely precious and we are thrilled to have another niece!
Then we stopped at Jon and Sam's for a few minutes to drop off a dresser, then we headed over to Jeremy & Brynn's apartment. It was the first time we had met Brynn and we got to see their cute apartment!
Then we went to Outback Steakhouse to celebrate Jeremy & Brynn's marriage. Unfortunately Chris & Laura couldn't be there, but I guess popping out a baby (even though it only took 2 pushes) is a pretty good excuse! I had baby back ribs and it was a fantastic meal! It's probably bad for me cause it put a taste in my mouth for more ribs! :) We had a really good time having almost all the family there.
After dinner, Jeremy, Brynn, and us went back to Jon & Sam's for games and dessert. They guys played Super Smash Brothers or something and we talked for a while. Then once Kevin & Isaac went to bed, we played "couples" Mario Party. It was really fun (I love that game) and Anthony & I won! Yay! Jon is really bitter about it, haha. :)
Sunday, we went to church and were able to have lunch with the entire family, all 13 of us! We even got a family picture which I will post later, I'm feeling too lazy right now! We had to leave right after that to get back for our Financial Peace University life group. We definitely don't want to miss that as much as we paid for it, haha!
So today we had an amazing blessing in our mailbox! We got a notice from Navy Federal, who our mortgage is with, that according to federal law they have to evaluate the escrow account once a year. Well, we have been paying more on that than was needed apparently because we got a check for over $300 and our mortgage payment was reduced by about $25! It may not seem like much, but we've been a little worried about how we are going to make it work once the baby comes with me only working part-time. I have been confident that God will provide and this was just an example showing how he can and will do that. It was also great, because our lifegroup last night was about getting rid of debt. It really got us (and everyone else in the class) pumped up about getting out of debt, and so now we are dead set on getting the Jeep paid off as soon as possible. So now we can put that check straight toward the Jeep. I was just close to tears because of what a blessing from God this is.
And finally, I'll go ahead an announce it on here as all of our family knows now. We have picked out a name for our little girl........ she will be called.....

We are still thinking about middle names, so please give us any suggestions you have. I'm off to get ready for bed now.

My Sister-in-law.... AKA Superwoman!
Do I have some news tonight!
First of all, Tyson's surgery went very well but the next 24 hours are critical, as for all serious surgery patients. See the link to the right for a full update.
Now.... on our way home from work today, Anthony's mom called to tell us that Laura (Anthony's sister-in-law) had gone to the dr. today for a regular OB checkup and they admitted her to the hospital because her blood pressure was so high. She thought they might go ahead and induce her, but wasn't sure. So we're thinking, oh that's exciting, the baby might be born this weekend!
So about 20 minutes ago, Linda calls me to tell me that Laura is now in labor and 10 cm dilated! Wow! Told Linda to call us if she was born by 10:30, if not then wait till the morning. So I call Ashley & Mom up to tell them that I'm going to have a new niece tonight. Well, as I am talking to Ashley, someone is beeping in, so I answer and it is Linda telling me that the baby was born already!!!! So welcome to the world Elena Corrine Tyler!! We are aunt and uncle again! :) I don't know any of the details yet but I will pass them on tomorrow once I get them. So here's the great thing about it.... we were already planning on going to VA Beach this weekend! We were supposed to have a big family dinner out to celebrate Jeremy & Brynn's new marriage. I imagine we will still do something even if we don't get to have everyone there, but how exciting that we get to see and hold our new little niece! She wasn't supposed to be born until early July so I wasn't sure when we were going to be able to make it down there, but how wonderfully this is going to work out!

Maybe it's a mini-baby and that's how she was born so fast!

Tyson
Ashley called a little while ago to update me. The tumor is not where they originally thought it was, it is behind one of his ears and it is intermingled with some of his brain. I think she said the surgery to cut off blood flow today was successful and they will go ahead and remove as much of the tumor as possible tomorrow. I guess they may do chemo after that. It's a step back but the doctor was talking in terms of the future as in this may affect his peripheral vision, which seems a small price to pay for his little life. So please continue to pray, especially tomorrow as they do the surgery that it would be successful and a huge step forward for Tyson. Thank you.

Tyson & Baby Stuff
I'm sure many of you who read (all 3 readers that I have, haha) have already heard about Tyson Woody. He is Jeremy & Summer's son, our youth pastor, and our pastor's grandson. He is only 8 months old and they found out yesterday that he has a brain tumor. Some seemingly good news today though. They did an MRI and found that the tumor is not intermingled in his brain but is basically "sitting" on the top right of his brain. So from what I understand, they will do surgery tomorrow (Wednesday) to cut off blood flow to the tumor and again on Thursday to remove the tumor. (If anyone reading this knows more than I do, please comment!). So it definitely seems like there is a good outlook for little Tyson. Continue to pray for him and the entire family and I will pass on updates as I receive them.
Nothing really exciting to update on baby news. I can't really tell if I am getting a belly but I feel like there is more "there" when I bend down when sitting. I keep meaning to start taking profile pictures so I can see the growth, but I keep forgetting! I've been building my maternity wardrobe, mostly through my mom and Ashley! They hit up the yardsales and Goodwill for me. Mom's friend Kay also got me a couple shirts! Also, I think we have pretty much agreed on a name. Anthony has declared that this is the name, and I think it is the one I like the best, I just want to keep my options open. So we're not telling yet, and if I can keep it that long, I'd like to wait till our ultrasound in August, just to be sure it is a girl.

Surprise!
IT'S A GIRL!!!
It can be predicted with 85% accuracy at my point in pregnancy, and Dr. Thompson is rarely wrong, so we're going with that!
Let me back up and tell the whole story.
I had just written Anthony an email at work today telling him how I knew this next week was going to seem really long, because we were scheduled to have the nuchal transulcency ultrasound on June 17th, next Tuesday. I had heard from Summer (our friend and youth pastor's wife) that Dr. Thompson could tell the sex at that ultrasound, so I got really excited about that possibility. Well, between 11:20 and 11:30, The Women's Center called me and said that Dr. Thompson has to be on call with the hospital next Tuesday so there would be a possibility he might not be there, so could I come today and have the ultrasound. She asked if I could come at 1:30 but Anthony was in a meeting at central office for what I thought was all day so I asked if it was possible to do it later. So she penciled me in at 3, saying she wasn't sure if he would be there, but at least the ultrasound tech could do it, and I frantically tried to get in touch with Anthony! I emailed him and told him the situation and told him to ask if he could leave early (since he already knew how to do everything this meeting/training was for). Well, it turned out they were done with their training before noon! So we got to go ahead at 1:30 and do the ultrasound! We actually got to have 2 ultrasounds at this appointment; after Dr. Thompson was done, he asked if this lady (who I think is a physiscian's assistant or something like that) who was training to do these ultrasounds could do another one on me, and of course I said yes!
It was the most amazing thing. When he first started, the baby was moving around a lot and you could see the little body wiggling around. He took a lot of measurements, as the main point of this ultrasound is to check for risk for Down's Syndrome and a couple other chromosomal abnormalities. Everything is excellent, and we have a tiny, next to nothing risk for those things. He said everything was measuring right on track for 12 weeks and 2 days. The baby is around 2 and a half inches long. We heard the heartbeat and it was 169! She was very active the entire time, just kicking her little legs and turning around. I can't wait till I can feel all that movement. Of course, I may regretting saying that when she is keeping me up at night! :) At the 2nd ultrasound, I guess my uterus was moving some and the lady told me that I was having a little contraction, which she said is normal. Haha. I'm trying to think of every little thing that happened.... it was just so incredible. I wanted to cry the whole time, but if I did that, then my belly would move, and I didn't want to mess him up, so I held it together! :) Anyways, I guess I covered all the high points, so here are some pictures. They are not very good because I had to take pictures of them so I'll show you the real things if I see you!

Another profile, you can see the spine, right at the back of the neck is where they took measurements to check for abnormalities, this is also one of them where he confirmed it was a girl... I'll do my best to explain... at this point their external genitals are not fully developed but from what I understood from this article Dr. Thompson showed us, there's basically a tube type thing where the genitals will form and it something to do with the angles of that tubal thing that tells you what the sex is. On the right side, looks like at the bottom of the belly, you can see two kind of pointy looking things, and that's apparently what he looks at. It's pretty complicated, but he is a genius! If you enlarge the picture, up in the left hand corner you can see where he typed "girl"!

Saturday
Don't have much to update about really, but I'm trying to stay faithful to this. :)
Last night we went to Jeremy & Summer's (our youth pastor & wife) house for dinner. Pastor Don and Sandy, and Clayton and Nicki (our summer interns) were also there. We had some excellent chicken parmasean for dinner and then we had dessert and talked a while, and then we played Pit. We had a really good time and didn't get home till about 11. I went straight to bed after that! :)
This morning Anthony had graduation, which was on the football field. In the extremely hot weather. Poor thing has a sunburn on his forehead where his graduation cap was. I went to the library and to Walmart to get groceries while he was gone. Once we were both home, we lounged around for a little while, and then we got to work on cleaning. With all the coming and going we do many weekends, we don't get everything cleaned like we should. But the house got a thorough cleaning today, so I feel so much better! Then we went to El Puerto for dinner and went to Kohl's and got Anthony a pair of pants and shirt. Now we are just here chilling out. Anthony just came back in from shooting some hoops on his new basketball goal. :) He has really been enjoying it, so I'm glad I got it for him.
We should be getting our new living room furniture soon. I think I'm going to have a hard time figuring out how I want it set up in here. I'd like to go to some of the neighbor's houses and just ask them to see how they have their living rooms arranged! They might think I'm crazy. :)
Well, tomorrow we have church and my aunt and uncle from Georgia are going to be in town, so I'm excited about seeing them. We also have started this new life group, Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. We've only had one week so far, but I already feel like we have learned so much. These principles just seems like they can be absolutely life-changing. If you are looking for something to help with financial stuff, I highly recommend at least reading the book, Financial Peace Revisited.

Need an Update
Well, I need to update, so here we go. Trying to think what all has happened the past week.
Saturday morning I went to yardsales in Grottoes with my friend Malisa. Got some good baby stuff, and a brand new basketball hoop for Anthony. I got it for $40 and it had never been used, still in some of the packaging and everything. They bought it for over $100 so I got a good deal. Anthony had been talking about wanting one and I just happened upon this, not really looking for it. But he finally got it put together and he has been enjoying using it.
After yardsales on Saturday, we went to Charlottesville to meet up with Matt, Amanda, Lily, and Vicky. We had lunch at Chili's and then did a little shopping in Barracks Road shopping center. I got a maternity shirt from Old Navy for 97 cents... go me! :) Then we came home and did our normal Saturday thing.
Sunday we had church. We had "promotion Sunday" in Sunday school. So we lost all our kids that just finished 8th grade. :( I am still really sad about it cause I love those kids. But we still have some great upcoming 8th graders (if we can get them to stay with us, they want to move up with their friends) and some really fun kids coming up from 6th grade. We have an intern for the summer to work with the junior high kids and he will be doing the Wednesday night thing, so I'm looking forward to that tomorrow evening.
In other news, Amanda's sister Dawn had her twins yesterday! They are really cute and I'm so glad for her since her journey to another child/children has been a long, hard one. Congratulations Dawn! (and Auntie Amanda too!)
