VA Beach Trip

Last weekend we went to VA Beach for a long weekend to visit Anthony's family. We went on Friday and Bailey was great - she slept the whole trip! We stopped in Newport News to see Jon & Sam and the boys, including new little Timothy. He is so tiny, and I have such a hard time remembering Bailey ever being that little, even though it was only 3 months ago!

It's amazing how much they grow in the first year. We got on the scale tonight to see how much she weighs now, and she is almost 16 pounds, close to double her birth weight. Aren't you glad we don't double our weight every 4 months? Haha. Anyways, back to my story.

So we got to Anthony's parents' house late Friday night. Saturday we went to the yard sale at Matt & Amanda's church. I got a couple of shirts, and we both got some of the amazing pizza they were selling. Then after lunch, Chris, Laura, Elena, and Laura's parents came over to visit for a while. Elena is such a cutie, and crawling around like a pro! Then later that afternoon, the rest of the family came over (it takes too long to name everyone now, haha!).

Sunday we went to church and I put Bailey in the nursery. That was harder since I don't know everyone there, but luckily, a couple I do know was in the nursery during the service, so I know she was taken good care of (I'm sure she would have been no matter who was in there). Then Sunday after church, Jon & Sam, Jeremy & Brynn, and families came over and we had lots of fun, as usual. It was nice, because we didn't have to rush off Sunday afternoon like we usually do, since Anthony's spring break was this week. We ended up skipping church Sunday evening, I think we were all beat.

Then Monday morning, we headed over to Matt & Amanda's to spend some time with them and Lily. We hung out at their house for a little bit, and then went to Chili's for lunch. Then we went back to their house to hang out for a little while longer and then we headed out in the afternoon.

Here are a few picture from the weekend:

Amanda had Bailey giggling like crazy! She has never laughed so much for me, and I still can't get her to do it, even when I imitate what Amanda was doing! I guess Amanda just looks funny or something.... just kidding! :) But it was so hillarious. It almost bring me to tears to see her so happy.

A shot of all the cousins, minus Elena and Timothy.

Anthony and I, holding baby Timothy.

And Bailey taking a bath at Grammy's house. I think she really liked taking a bath sitting up. I think she looks like she is relaxing in a jacuzzi in this pic!

Behind Again!

I'm such a huge blogging slacker lately! I guess I'm just too busy playing with Bailey. :)

Last week went well. I had a great time on Thursday with the girls. We went to Red Lobster. It was just great to have some "girlfiend' time. And Bailey and her daddy did just fine together. Then Friday I worked for about 6 hours or so, and Bailey stayed with Ashley and her Ganny. Ashley said she was just smiles all day long, so I was glad to hear that.

Over the weekend she seemed a little more fussy than usual, but she seems back to her normal self, so I'm not sure if her stomach was upset, or if she is starting to teethe, or what. But I'm glad the happy Bailey is back. :)

Yesterday I worked about 3 hours in the afternoon and will do the same thing Thursday. I am dropping her off with mom at 3:00 when she is not so busy at work and then I pick her up at the house when I'm done. I've also been doing some work at home, so that's been nice.

This weekend we are going to VA Beach to visit Anthony's family. Oh and I forgot to mention the biggest news! Bailey is no longer the baby in the family. Timothy James Tyler was born on Sunday morning. Jon and Sam now have their hands even more full with 3 boys! We are really excited to see him this weekend.

Well, I suppose I'm going to go get some lunch. Bailey is sleeping right now, so I'm waiting on her to wake up so I can put her in the bouncy seat in the bathroom so I can take a shower. I am so glad we get to have a normal day at home together today!

Busy Week

I have been slacking in the blogging world lately! Just wanted to update on a few things.

This past weekend was great. Friday, my mom had the day off, and Ashley has a new job with every Friday off, so we went to the mall. It was really fun hanging out with them and Zoe, and Mom's friend Karen. I got some really cute summer rompers for Bailey with a coupon I had and a sweater for myself.

Then Saturday Vicky came to visit. We had a nice time just visiting, and we went to Starbucks for coffee. I am hoping I can make a trip to Lynchburg one Saturday sometime soon. Then all my Lynchburg friends who have not seen Bailey yet could have a chance to meet her!

In other news, I am going to be working part-time a little bit. The lady who took my place at work turned in her notice, so they really need some help. So probably until they find someone and get that person trained, I'm going to be working when I can. Ashley is going to watch Bailey on some Fridays so I can work and my mom may watch her some afternoons. Also, I'm going to be supervising Saturday school for Ridgeview. It's only once a month or so, but it will be a little extra cash at least.

The rest of this week is shaping up to be a busy one. Tomorrow I need to get groceries and take the trash to the dump. Wednesday we have church. Thursday morning I have a dentist appointment so my dad is going to come watch Bailey. I think I have a wisdom tooth starting to come in, but I'm hoping they don't need to come out. Although I can definitely say that I am far less nervous about a surgery for that since I have had a c-section. A surgery while sleeping should be a piece of cake! Then Thursday evening, we are having a girls' night out in Staunton. I am so excited for that!

Then Friday I am going to work for half the day probably. It's going to be a lot of time away from Bailey on Thursday and Friday, so I'm not looking forward to that aspect of it, but hopefully I will be refreshed by a little time away.

Well it's about time to get Bailey ready for bed, so that's all for now!

Rolling Over

Here is the long awaited rolling over video! She first did this last Tuesday, three times at the doctor's office, and a few more times at home that evening. Well, she hasn't done it since then, haha. We keep trying, so hopefully it will soon become a regular activity!

Visit from Grammy and Pappy

This past weekend Anthony's parents came for a visit. We had a great time with them. These are all pictures from their camera. Bailey is getting so big! As you can see, she now sits in her Bumbo seat, and she also sits in her high chair at the table with us! She is usually a very happy baby and so good. She pretty much only cries when she is hungry or sleepy. I am having so much fun watching her grow and learn!

2 Month Well Visit

I took Bailey for her 2 month well visit at the doctor's office today. He said she looks really good and he is happy with her development. Today is her Aunt Ashley's 22nd birthday, and since she had surgery on Friday, she is off work this week, so she went with us for moral support since Bailey had shots. It's a good thing, cause I cried like a baby, more than Bailey did. It SO broke my heart when she let out that painful scream. I have never heard her cry like that and it was awful. I was crying before they even stuck her.... when they said "okay, Mommy, we need you to hold her arms" that's when the tears started dropping! :( But she didn't cry for long, like I said, I cried longer and more than she did. I nursed her before we left and she has been sleeping ever since. I plan on giving her tylenol when she wakes up and hopefully we don't have any bad side effects. Anyways, here's her stats:

Weight: 13 pounds 8 ounces: 94th percentile
Length: 22 3/4 inches: 44th percentile
Head Circumference: 16 inches: 80th percentile

So she is short and fat, haha! I'm so glad to have a healthy baby, even if she is a chubster. :)

Also, the most exciting news, is that she rolled over for the first time while we were at the office! I had put her up on the table, while we were waiting for the doctor, so she could show Ashley how she could prop herself up on her arms now. Well, lo and behold, I put her up there and she just rolled right over onto her back! It was funny because when I laid her on her tummy last night, that was the first time that she really kept herself propped up on her arms, and I said to Anthony that she would be rolling over soon since she could do that. I can't believe she is doing so well with that, because I don't lay her on her tummy everyday, and I know I should, but apparently she is super strong, despite my lack of discipline! I am going to try to get a video of her rolling over after she wakes up, so maybe I can have that to post tonight.

After the appointment we went to McDonald's and treated Ashley to lunch since it is her birthday. It was nice to spend some time with her. Happy birthday Ash!

Now I'm off to get some things done while my little angel is sleeping.

Hospital & Funeral

Well I have slacked off this past week! It's been a busy one. Monday my dad had surgery to remove the hardware from his leg from when he broke his femur/hip. He has been in pain, pretty bad pain sometimes, ever since he broke it and had the original surgery in September. He still has not been back to work yet and is on disability, so he needed to do something about it. The doctor said that some people's bodies just don't accept the hardware for whatever reason. But after this surgery on Monday he said that everything looks healed and there is no infection, so hopefully just having the hardware removed will take care of the pain. He got to go home the same day, so it ended up just being outpatient surgery. I know he is anxious to be back to normal, so pray that this would take care of the pain.

Then yesterday (Friday) Ashley had surgery on her wrist to remove a ganglion cyst. It was outpatient also. She was really funny when she was in recovery, while she still had some of the "happy juice" in her system. :)

So Bailey and I spent 2 days this week at the hospital. On Wednesday, we went to the funeral for Colton (in case you had not seen on his caringbridge site, he passed away on Feb. 28th). It was so sad, and I just cannot begin to imagine being in Derek & Malisa's shoes. The casket was SO tiny, and Derek himself carried it out when the funeral was over. I also ended up going to the graveside prayer after the funeral, and the thing that struck me there, was how difficult it would be for them to drive away from that cemetery. Even though he was just a lifeless body, his soul now in heaven, I can't imagine the pain of having to leave him there. I've just had so many thoughts floating around in my head since this whole thing started. You hear about people losing babies every now and then, but I've never had one of my own friends go through this. It hits close to home and makes me wonder why God allowed them to go through this journey. Why not me? What's the difference? It's brought to my attention how easily something like that could happen to me, and has given me a new appreciation for my healthy baby. I've often heard and realize that God gives grace as it is needed, so I can never imagine how they are getting through this, since God has not given me grace for something such as that. I am just so extremely thankful for little Bailey.

Well I need to make good use of my time now, so I'm going to go do some yucky housework!
